Tim Cope is a retired software developer and architect who co-founded an insurance technology company, Origami Risk, in 2009. Tim graduated from Arizona State University with a Computer Systems Engineering degree in 1994 and worked in the software industry until 2026, when he retired to focus on The Cope Center. Tim is still a co-owner of Origami Risk.

Tim Cope continues to mentor software engineers, help navigate the ever-changing technology landscape, and support the growth and success of tech startups. For the Cope Center, Tim is the Executive Director, managing the business aspects of the company, as well as handling any tech needs at the Cope Center. Tim also serves as the instructor for the Lego Robotics activity for the Unwind program. Tim is a philanthropist, serving on the board of Children’s Aid and Family Services of New Jersey and managing the Cope Family Foundation.

Tim enjoys reading history, science fiction and fantasy books. He was a Tolkien fan before it was cool. He also loves to cook, drive his sports car, and watch sports. He’s a huge fan of both the American and European variety of football. Tim has been a Lego fanatic since the age of 5.
