Susan Ortiz, DNP, CPNP-PC, is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Pediatric Primary Care from Rutgers University School of Nursing (2024), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Felician University (2015), and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Eastwick College (2013). She began her nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2009 and has since progressed through roles as an LPN, Registered Nurse, and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, bringing 17 years of diverse clinical experience to her work with children and families.
Her clinical experience includes pediatric primary care, developmental screenings, preventive healthcare, patient and family education, and care coordination. Prior to joining the COPE Center for Autism, she worked in pediatric and community health settings, including Alliance Community Healthcare, North Hudson Community Action Corporation, and St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where she provided care to children and families from diverse backgrounds.
As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Susan takes a family-centered and collaborative approach to care. She is passionate about the early identification of developmental concerns and helping children and families access appropriate resources and support. She works closely with parents, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to provide individualized care that supports each child’s health and development.
Susan is particularly passionate about working with children on the autism spectrum and supporting their families throughout their healthcare and developmental journeys. She is committed to providing compassionate, individualized care that recognizes each child’s unique strengths and needs and helps every child reach their fullest potential.
Outside of work, Susan enjoys making memories with her family and staying grounded in her faith and values. She cherishes quiet moments of reflection, spiritual growth, and the simple joys of family life.
