Dr. Jennifer Cope, a pediatric neurologist with 25 years of experience, opened the Cope Center for Autism in March 2025 to support the autism community in Northern New Jersey with evaluations, information, and programs. We’re located at 579 Franklin Turnpike in Ridgewood.
Our medical staff provides autism assessments for children up to age 21, using the gold standard of autism testing – the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) evaluation. Since opening our doors, we’ve assessed hundreds of children who have been referred by pediatricians, Early Intervention, and school districts.
After the diagnosis, our team of Parent Support Specialists steps in to guide parents about the diagnosis and options for therapy and school. They can continue to support parents along their autism journey with answers about therapy, IEPs, summer camps, academics, transition support, and college. Our staff educates families in one-on-one sessions, free online webinars, and school presentations.
We also offer an after-school program for some autistic teens, ages 13-17. Parents can inquire about openings and qualifications here.
The mission of the Cope Center for Autism is to inform and support the autism community, which includes children, families, doctors, therapists, and teachers. Our kids thrive with a strong support team behind them. We’re here to bring everyone together in an inclusive, positive space. We’re glad that you will be part of that team.
